Livestock Expo Strengthen Australia-Indonesia

The Australian Embassy in Jakarta congratulates the first ever Indonesia Livestock Products and Services Expo, kicked off by Australian Ambassador Paul Grigson in Tangerang, Banten Province on 9 April.

“Australia is committed to strengthening the livestock sector in Indonesia and finding ways to promote trade between our two countries,” Ambassador Grigson said.

“This expo is one of those ways as it brings together importers, exporters and key decision makers in the sector.”

The exhibit features 20 companies from Australia and Indonesia operating in the livestock sector and showcases products and services to importers, exporters, and policy makers.

Representatives from the Coordinating Ministry for Economy, Industry, and Finance as well as Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health of the Agriculture Ministry also attended the opening ceremony.

The event, organised by Meat & Livestock Australia, focuses on animal welfare, animal husbandry, animal management, abattoirs and other service industries.

Australia is a major supplier of livestock to Indonesia and the exhibition is well-timed to allow industry players to see the support that is available to the Indonesian cattle industry.
