2010 Endeavour Awards Open for Applications

Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Bill Farmer, is pleased to invite highly qualified candidates to apply for the 2010 Endeavour Awards.

The Endeavour Awards program is an internationally competitive, merit-based scholarship program providing opportunities for high-achieving students, researchers and professionals from Asia-Pacific countries, including Indonesia, to undertake study, research and professional development in Australia in a broad range of disciplines.

“Each year there are a number of Indonesians going to Australia under the Endeavour program - they come from many different backgrounds and undertake a broad range of study and unique professional development training,” Ambassador Farmer said.

“The Endeavour program builds enduring networks between Indonesians and Australians, as well as with other scholars from many different parts of the world, and this relationship will continue long after they have returned to Indonesia,” he said.

The opportunities available for Indonesian scholars, researchers and professionals include: Endeavour Postgraduate Awards, Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Research Fellowships, Endeavour Research Fellowships, Endeavour Executive Awards, Endeavour Vocational Education and Training (VET) Awards, and International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS).

“We encourage Indonesian scholars and professionals to apply and certainly hope there will be more Indonesians receiving the awards in 2010,” said Ambassador Farmer.

Applications for the 2010 Endeavour Awards close on 31 July 2009 and further information can be obtained from the website: www.endeavour.deewr.gov.au.

The Endeavour Awards program is part of the Australian Scholarships initiative which also includes the Australian Leadership Awards and Australian Development Scholarships. The website www.australiaawards.gov.au provides information about all three Australian Government Scholarships schemes.
