Shinta Dhanuwardoyo, Founder and CEO of www.bubu.com  has travelled to Melbourne as a finalist in the inaugural Telstra Business Woman in Asia Award.

The Telstra Women in Business Awards  are the longest-running and most esteemed women’s award in Australia and champion women from diverse industries, ensuring their achievements are given the recognition they deserve. This year seven finalists from Asia will compete in their own category having survived three prior rounds of judging with hundreds of nominations.

Shinta has been at the forefront of Indonesia’s digital economy for over 20 years since internet penetration was only at 0.1% of the nation’s population. Over the last twenty years the changes in Indonesia’s technology landscape have been huge with the country’s economy expected to host half of South East Asia’s e-commerce in the next ten years, the opportunities are enormous.

Telstra’s Country Managing Director for Indonesia and also the President Director of telkomtelstra Erik Meijer said that Telstra is a passionate supporter of women in business and given Telstra’s growth in the Asia Pacific region, it is a natural progression to extend the Telstra Women in Business Award to Asia.

“Shinta has always been at the forefront of technology and business in Indonesia and across the region; to have Shinta recognized as a finalist in this inaugural award is a testament to the esteem with which she is held in Indonesia. We are thrilled she will join more than 2,000 like-minded women as Telstra Business Women’s Awards Alumni,” Mr Meijer said.

The Australian Embassy in Jakarta wishes Shinta the best of luck for the Award Finals which will be held in Melbourne on November 16th.
