Applications for the 2008 Endeavour Awards are Now Open

The Endeavour Programme is an internationally competitive, merit-based scholarship programme that forms part of the Australian Government's Rp. 9,8 trillion Australian Scholarships initiative, which was launched last year.

The Endeavour Programme provides opportunities for short or long term study, research and professional development in a broad range of disciplines in Australia.

Open from 2 April – 31 July 2007, opportunities for high achieving scholars, researchers and executives from Indonesia are:

“Last year, 30 Indonesians received these internationally-competitive Endeavour Awards. The Awards will strengthen Australia’s education relationships with Indonesia, allowing professionals and researchers to establish enduring personal and institutional linkages. We certainly hope there will be a similar number of recipients from Indonesia in 2008”, said Bill Farmer, Australian Ambassador to Indonesia.

Australian Scholarships brings together the Endeavour Awards programme, administered by the Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST), with the Australian Leadership Awards and Australian Development Scholarships (ADS), managed by Australia's international aid agency, AusAID.

Applications for Australian Leadership Scholarships will open on 1 May and close on 31 July 2007 while applications for the Australian Development Scholarships will open from 18 June to 14 September 2007.

The Australian Government has provided over 10,000 scholarships to Indonesia for study in Australia since the 1950s. At least 16 Endeavour Research Fellowship Awards are available for Indonesians.
