The Australian Government proudly offers the Australia Awards Indonesia Nusantara Scholarships, an incredible opportunity for the next generation of global leaders from Indonesia to become agents of change and contribute to exchanging knowledge in fields crucial to developing Indonesia's new capital city, Nusantara.
The Scholarships were jointly announced by the President of Indonesia and the Prime Minister of Australia at the Australia-Indonesia Annual Leader’s Meeting on 4 July 2023.
Ten Australia Awards Indonesia Nusantara Scholarships will be offered to aspiring Indonesian leaders to undertake full-time postgraduate study at Monash University, Indonesia, commencing in October 2023. Monash University established the first Australian university in-country campus in 2020.
Applicants will be assessed on their professional and personal qualities, academic competence, and, most importantly, their potential to impact development challenges in Indonesia. Applicants will be required to show that they can contribute to the development of Indonesia’s new capital city, Nusantara, using the knowledge, skills and networks gained through their study.

"The Australia Awards Indonesia Nusantara Scholarships open doors for talented individuals to gain access to world-class Australian education in Indonesia and contribute to the development of its new capital city, Nusantara."
The Australia Awards Indonesia Nusantara Scholarships aims to achieve a balance across female and male awardees and encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds, including applicants from the Equity Target Groups that comprise people with disability, disadvantaged women and those from equity target provinces. Applicants from Kalimantan Timur are also encouraged to apply.
