Today, Australian Deputy Ambassador to Indonesia, Steve Scott, opened the first AussieBanget University Roadshow at BINUS University.

The AussieBanget University Roadshow will visit several universities across Indonesia with thematic panel discussions, featuring experts from Australia and Indonesia, an Australia Awards scholarship showcase and AussieBanget Corners.

The university outreach is part of the 75th Anniversary of Australia - Indonesia Diplomatic Relations campaign throughout 2024 which includes a series of activities such as a mural art collaboration, Festival Sinema Australia Indonesia and much more.

“Education has long been a key pillar of our relationship and a source of connection and friendships in both countries,” said Deputy Ambassador Scott.

“I am pleased to launch the first AussieBanget University Roadshow at BINUS. The Roadshow provides students with opportunities to better understand, engage with and explore the Australia-Indonesia bilateral relationship and both countries’ contribution to the region,” added Deputy Ambassador Scott.

During the event, Deputy Ambassador Scott and BINUS Vice Rector, Dr. Reina, also launched the updated AussieBanget Corner. First established in 2017, the AussieBanget Corner serves as a permanent space for students to explore Australian books and resources, and access information on studying in Australia and Australia Awards scholarship programs.

Today’s panel speakers, Dr Eve Warburton, Director of Australian National University’s Indonesia Institute, Dr Lina Alexandra, Head of Department of International Relations, Centre for Strategic and International Studies and Ms Dayu Nirma Amurwanti, Department of International Relations, BINUS University, examined the significant role of women in shaping foreign policy and governance in Southeast Asia.
