OZMINE 2007 - Australian Mining And Petroleum Exhibition & Conference
The Australian Embassy, through the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) will hold the first Australian Mining and Petroleum Exhibition and Conference, OZMINE 2007 on Tuesday and Wednesday, 30-31 January 2007. The exhibition and conference will be opened at 9.30am by Dr. Ir. Purnomo Yusgiantoro MSc PhD, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and Ms. Louise Hand, Minister, Australian Embassy Jakarta.
The OZMINE 2007 conference will feature a keynote speech by Dr. Ir. Purnomo Yusgiantoro on developing a sustainable Indonesian mining industry and also will comment on the new mining law which is currently being debated in the Indonesian parliament.
The conference will also feature presentations by Mr. Simon Sembiring, Director General of Mineral, Coal and Geothermal, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources; Mr. Agusman Effendi, Head of Commission VII, House of Representative; and top executives from Rio Tinto, Thiess Contractors, Leighton Contractors and Petrosea. The conference will cover four main areas; Legal Aspects in Indonesian Mining Industry, Environmentally Friendly Mining Operation, Mining Economics and Mining Technology.
OZMINE 2007 presents 27 Australian mining and petroleum companies - showcasing their latest product developments and technology. Thiess Contractors Indonesia, Leighton Contractors Indonesia and Petrosea as three of four main sponsors of the exhibition and will display the latest in their project engineering, contracting and construction services. Rio Tinto, also a main sponsor, will showcase their upcoming Nickel Project in Sulawesi. ESI Alphatec will display its capability in providing in-situ machinery refurbishment and laser & optical alignment services. Four mining software companies namely Mainpac, Mincom, iVolve and Surpac Minex Group will display the latest in geology, mine planning, production and asset management solution. Mining software is one of Australia’s successful niche areas where over 60% of the world’s mining operations now used softwares developed by Australian companies.
The exhibition and associated conference has received support from the Indonesian Mining Association, the Association of Indonesian Mining Professionals and the Indonesian Geologist Association.
Major Australian mining companies and products and services providers already have a long history in Indonesia. The conference and exhibition will give Indonesian business people and decision makers an opportunity to gain insights into this growth area.
