Australian Building and Construction Expo Jakarta, 29-30 August 2006
The first Australian Building Exhibition in Indonesia, AUSBUILD Expo 2006 is being held on Tuesday and Wednesday, 29 – 30August 2006. Opening the exhibition, Ambassador Bill Farmer said “AUSBUILD 2006 brings together the latest Australian technology in building and construction as well as leading architects from both countries.”
Australian Professor Philip Cox will speak at the industry seminar on 29 August on Architectural Trends 2006. Professor Cox is the design or project director of a number of ground-breaking architectural projects including Sydney SuperDome, Singapore Expo, Kuwait Pearls Sea Cities and Shanghai Riverfront. The industry seminar also features leading Indonesian architects and interior designers including Doddy A Tjahjadi from Peddle Thorp Architect, Budiman Hoolan Hendropurnomo from Denton Corker Marshall, Hendrajaya Isnaeni from PT Arkitekton and Ignatius Susiadi from PT Parthenon.
“Building and Construction trade between Australia and Indonesia is on the rise with approximately 800 billion Rupiah traded in 2005,” said Mr Farmer. “And AUSBUILD 2006 will be presenting the latest in building technology which is environmentally friendly, sophisticated, stylish and economical.”
BlueScope Lysaght is displaying its latest products in roof truss, roofing and walling systems as well as a seminar titled “Innovative Steel Solutions”. Clipsal will display their latest lighting products and provide a presentation on “Intelligence in Lighting Solutions”. Hunter Douglas’ International Director, Mr. Sipco de Jonge, is presenting on “Green Buildings and New Inventions”.
AUSBUILD was organised by the Australian Trade Commission with support from the Indonesian Institute of Architects, the Indonesian Contractors Association and the Indonesian Society of Interior Designers. BlueScope Steel Indonesia and Clipsal, the principal sponsors of the Expo, have a long history of involvement in the Indonesian building and construction scene.
