Australian Ambassador opens New Australian Visa Centre

Today, the Australian Ambassador, Mr Bill Farmer opened the Australian Visa Application Centre. The new centre will make it faster and easier than ever before to obtain a visa to Australia.

Each year more than 60,000 visas are issued to Indonesians travelling to Australia. Australia is Indonesia’s number one destination for overseas study and is extremely popular as a business and tourist destination.

At the launch, the Ambassador said “this new centre will mean a great improvement in our services to our Indonesian customers. This ‘shopfront’ will mean that individuals will be able to lodge applications directly instead of going through a travel agent. It will mean a faster delivery service, operate for longer opening hours and provide a telephone and website enquiry service”.

Located in the central CBD location, it will provide business people, students and the general public with an easy way of obtaining a visa. “Actually there is a myth in Indonesia that it is difficult to get a visa to Australia. In fact, 97% of all applications are successful, business visas can be obtained in 3 days and tourist visas in as little as 5 days. We have one of the fastest turn-around-times for granting visas in the world” the Ambassador said.

So next time you hear that your colleague, family or friends are travelling to Australia - spread the word – the Australia Visa Application Centre is open, making it faster and easier than ever before.
