Australia announces opening of new Australian Visa Application Centre in Bali

Today, the Minister-Counsellor (Immigration) Regional Director, Jim O’Callaghan opened the Australian Visa Application Centre in Bali. The new centre will make it faster and easier than ever before to obtain a visa to Australia.

Each year more than 60,000 visas are issued to Indonesians travelling to Australia. Australia is Indonesia’s number one destination for overseas study and is extremely popular as a business and tourist destination.

At the launch, Mr O’Callaghan said “this new centre will mean a great improvement in our services to our Indonesian customers. This office will be able to provide a website service where individuals can track the status of their applications”.

“97% of all visa applications are successful. We have one of the fastest turn-around-times for granting visas in the world” Mr. O’Callaghan said.

Opening of the Bali centre follows the opening of a similar facility in Jakarta that was opened on 21 November 2006.

So next time you hear that your colleague, family or friends are travelling to Australia - spread the word – the Australia Visa Application Centre is open, making it faster and easier than ever before.
