Australian Designer Showcase to Colour Indonesian Fashion Week

Indonesian fashionistas will have the opportunity to meet internationally acclaimed fashion designer Akira Isogawa at the Australian Showcase at Indonesian Fashion Week.

From 2-4pm on Saturday 23 August at Pacific Place Mall, the Australian Showcase will also feature the latest collections of top Australian designers Jayson Brunsdon and Eileen Kirby.

Perth designer Aimee Cristi will also be showing her exciting collection in Indonesia for the first time.

Australian Ambassador Bill Farmer said he was delighted by the strong support for Australian high fashion among Jakarta’s discerning buyers.

“Australia’s fashion industry has grown tremendously over the last decade. Some 60 Australian labels are currently exporting their designs to boutiques and department stores in Asia, Europe and the United States,” the Ambassador said.

“Many young and talented Australian designers have attracted international acclaim for their fresh and innovative designs and strong branding,” he said. “I am sure their latest collections will be well received at Indonesian Fashion Week.”

The Jayson Brunsdon and Eileen Kirby lines featured in the Australian Showcase at Indonesian Fashion Week are available exclusively at Velvet Boutique at Plaza Indonesia.

“My sense is that our unique design styles and innovative use of fabrics are very popular here. Indonesian fashion lovers seem to enjoy the fun, fresh and modern ideas and quality products now coming out of Australia,” Mr Farmer said.

“Congratulations to Femina Group for organising this fabulous and high-profile event. Apart from being enormously enjoyable, Indonesian Fashion Week is of considerable value to the Indonesian fashion industry in building international connections and enhancing the reputation of Indonesian fashion and design in our region,” the Ambassador added.
