AusIndo Quiz Competition Aims to Increase Knowledge of Australia Amongst Indonesian Youth

The Australian Embassy is proud to support the Ausindo Quiz Competition which was initiated by the Centre for Dialogue and Cooperation Amongst Civilisations (CDCC) and funded by the Australia-Indonesia Institute as a way of improving the understanding of Australia by Indonesian youth.

The quiz is being held at the Muhammadiyah Prof Hamka University in Jakarta from 30-31 March with a final competition taking place on 3 April.

It will involve more than 500 students from 50 high schools located in Jakarta, Bekasi, Tangerang and Depok.

Australia-Indonesia Institute Secretariat Director Brent Hall joined Dr Abdul Mu’ti, Director of CDCC and Prof Dr Suyatno, Head of Muhammadiyah Prof Hamka University in officially opening the event yesterday.

Quiz questions are based on the Australia-Indonesia relationship covering issues relating to politics, religion, culture, government, language and history.

The Australia-Indonesia Institute (AII) supports a large number of projects in a wide range of areas including arts and culture, education, youth, civil society and media, interfaith, and Australian studies.

It also runs a number of flagship programs including the annual Muslim Exchange Program which provides opportunities for emerging leaders in the Indonesian Muslim community to engage their counterparts in Australia on a range of important issues affecting people in both countries.
