Flavours of Australia 2010

The 4th Australian Food and Beverage promotion, Flavours of Australia, was officially opened today at Hero Supermarket, Pondok Indah Mall in Jakarta featuring cooking demonstrations by Meat and Livestock Australia and Outback Steakhouse.

The month-long promotion will take place in Jakarta and Surabaya in partnership with two major supermarket chains, Hero and Sinar Supermarket. Visitors to the stores will be able to sample more than 100 of Australia’s most popular food and beverage products.

“Australia has a worldwide reputation for producing superior quality food products. Our food industry encompasses a wide variety of products such as dairy, pasta, fresh meat, seafood, fresh fruit and vegetables, olive oil and a full range of other grocery lines,” said Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Bill Farmer.

“Australian products are popular amongst Indonesians because they provide the highest international standards of quality management and food safety, including halal certification,” he said.

During the promotion, visitors to both supermarkets will be able to take advantage of the special discounts on Australian food and beverage products as well as participate to win a free trip to Australia for two people.
