Developing Indonesia Seminar 2010

The Australian Embassy in Jakarta will today hold the 2010 Developing Indonesia Seminar and Report on the Development Sector, with more than 20 Australian firms and institutions specialising in services to this critical area expected to attend.

Senior officers from BAPPENAS, the Indonesian Office of Partnership for Governance Reform, the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, AusAID and the NGO sector will speak on their objectives and programs across a broad range of priority sectors in Indonesia.

The seminar will be delivered around the theme of Capacity Building in Indonesia and focus on opportunities in infrastructure, renewable energy, vocational education and training, disaster management, climate change and governance sectors.

Mr Paul Robilliard, Australian Chargé d'Affaires to Indonesia, said the seminar was a concrete example of the high level of interest in further strengthening the partnership between Australia and Indonesia, and underlined Australia’s commitment to Indonesia’s development.
