Australia supports Indonesia’s future leaders
Indonesia's current and future leaders are invited to apply to study in Australia through the prestigious Australian Leadership Awards scholarships.
Up to 200 post-graduate scholarships are being offered for students from selected development countries to study at Australian universities in 2012, including candidates from Indonesia.
The Australian Leadership Awards (ALA) enhances leadership in development, builds networks and partnerships.
ALA scholarships target leaders whose chosen field of study equips them to play a significant role in addressing development challenges in Indonesia. Fields of study include disability, economic growth, education, environment, food security, gender, governance, health, human rights, infrastructure, regional stability, rural development and water and sanitation.
"Since the Australian Leadership Awards commenced in 2007, Indonesia has received the highest number of awards for any country. This is a testament to Indonesia’s leadership talent," said Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Greg Moriarty.
"Scholarship recipients not only contribute to Indonesia’s development but also strengthen the people-to-people links between our two countries," he said.
In addition to studying for postgraduate qualifications, awardees will be provided with opportunities to enhance their leadership capacity through the Leadership Development Program. This program provides ALA scholars with an interactive and tailored learning experience on emerging leadership issues.
Applications for 2012 open on 11 March 2011 and close on 31 May 2011.
