Groundbreaking Australian 3D Architectural Visions Come to Jakarta

For the first time in Indonesia, a groundbreaking international 3D film exhibition, Now and When: Kota Masa Depan, will open free to the public from 5-24 April at Pacific Place Mall, Jakarta.

The exhibition features dramatic Australian architectural visions from both existing and hypothetical urban environments.

This world-class innovative architectural exhibition, focusing on ‘possible futures for urban spaces’, attracted over 90,000 visitors at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2010 and wowed thousands more in South Korea, China and Australia last year.

Co-created by some of Australia’s premier architectural photographers and architects, John Gollings and Ivan Rijavec, Now and When: Kota Masa Depan is presented in two parts: Now, which is a 3D photographic study from a helicopter of the existing Australian urban landscape, and When, a spectacular glimpse of Australia’s potential urban future in 2050 and beyond.

“We hope that this exploration of urbanisation both now and in the future provokes discussion and debate here in Indonesia around issues of urban density and city development,” said Greg Moriarty, Australian Ambassador to Indonesia.

“We warmly welcome the Indonesian public to come to this free exhibition and witness creative ideas about the future of city living,” Ambassador Moriarty said.

Now and When: Kota Masa Depan is developed and presented by the Australian Institute of Architects and supported by the Australian Government through the Australia International Cultural Council, an initiative of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
