Opportunities announced for study in Australia in 2014

The Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Greg Moriarty, is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2014 Australia Awards Scholarships provided under the Australian Government’s overseas aid program.

Australia is offering around 500 awards to candidates from Indonesia. A total of 2,300 students from over 90 countries will have the opportunity to study at Australian institutions in 2014.

The best and the brightest students will be selected on the basis of demonstrated leadership qualities, academic achievement and their potential to contribute to development in Indonesia. Last year 474 scholars were selected from Indonesia to study in Australia in 2013.

“The Australia Awards Scholarships are an opportunity to make a world of difference and the Australian Government is now inviting applicants who want to be part of a new generation of global leaders for development with strong links to Australia,” said Ambassador Moriarty.

Australia Awards Scholarships provide recipients with the opportunity to obtain a tertiary qualification at one of Australia’s world class universities. They also provide recipients with the chance to experience life in Australia and build strong links with Australian people and organisations.

“The Australia Awards Scholarships offer future leaders the chance to strengthen their knowledge and leaderships skills, with the goal of contributing to development in their home country.

“Awardees will receive ongoing support and professional development throughout their careers from the Australia Awards international Alumni network linking individuals, institutions and nations,” said Ambassador Moriarty.

Australia Awards Scholarships open on 4 March 2013 and close on
19 July 2013.
