The 2nd Australian Graduates Job Fair 2014

The Australian Trade Commission, Austrade, in partnership with Ikatan Alumni Mahasiswa Australia IKAMA, will deliver the 2nd Australian Graduate Jobs Fair in Jakarta on Saturday 22 February 2014.

Eight Australian universities and more than 30 Australian and Indonesian companies are participating in the event, with almost 300 graduates having registered to attend. Participating employers cover a spread of industry sectors, including banking, finance, consulting, property, mining, construction and education.

“Australian graduates are highly sought after by employers and the strong participation by business at this event demonstrates the employability of Indonesian students, and how industry recognisies the value of Australian education qualification,” Senior Trade Commissioner, Kym Hewett, said.

Australia has been a leading study destination for Indonesian students for more than 60 years. Many graduates have become leaders in government, business and the community, with many Australian-educated scientists, doctors and researchers throughout Indonesia.

President of IKAMA, Dr Hermanto Dardak, said part of the objective in co-organising this job fair was to facilitate both fresh graduates returning to Indonesia seeking employment and already employed alumni wishing to step up further in their professional career development.

“I believe that this event will help strenghtening the relationship that leads to contribution in speeding up the development in Indonesia," Dr Hermanto said.

The experience gained while studying and working in Australia continues to be a potent combination for any fresh graduate seeking to establish their career upon returning to Indonesia.

With over 16,000 Indonesian students currently enrolled in Australian education institutions, the pool of Alumni continues to grow well into the tens of thousands.

The 2nd Australian Graduate Jobs Fair also includes a professional development seminar and career sharing session from Alumni. The inaugural Australian Graduates Job Fair was held with great success in 2012.
