Australian Culinary Trails: Bringing the Best of Australian Food to Indonesia
The Australian Embassy in Jakarta proudly presents Australian Culinary Trails, a showcase of the best of Australian food and drink. This series of events will be held in West Mall, Grand Indonesia Jakarta from 21st -26th April.
Australian Culinary Trails brings the best of Australian food and beverages to Indonesian importers, the local food service industry and consumers.
The series of events will include coffee classes, wine workshops, cooking demonstrations and a pop-up function catered by David Hull, Executive Chef from Cullen Wines, who will present canapés featuring Western Australia’s best produce.
“This is an exciting initiative that will expose people to some of Australia’s best quality products and culinary services,” the Australian Ambassador Paul Grigson said.
“We see great potential to increase our two countries’ engagement in the food sector and hope these events open up opportunities for the industry both in Australia and Indonesia.”
First held in 2014, Australian Culinary Trails has grown to be one of Indonesia’s most important gourmet food and beverage showcases. The idea for the series of events came after research from Austrade revealed that Indonesians who have visited Australia ranked it as their number one destination for food and wine.
According to Commonwealth Bank Indonesia President Director, Tony Costa, Australian Culinary Trails is a one of a kind in Indonesia.
“It is our privilege to collaborate with the Australian Embassy for the 2015 Australian Culinary Trails, which is a truly unique initiative” Costa said. “I’m sure it will be a unique and fun experience for Indonesian food enthusiasts.”
Australian Culinary Trails is proudly sponsored by the Commonwealth Bank Indonesia, Tourism Australia, Garuda Indonesia and Tourism Western Australia.
