Arriving in Jakarta tonight, Minister for Trade and Investment, Mr Andrew Robb, welcomed the appointment of Senator Richard Colbeck as Minister for Tourism and International Education.

"This appointment underlines just how important the services sectors of our economies are becoming.

"Australia and Indonesia have strong links already in tourism and education.

"More than 1 million Australians visit Indonesia each year.

"And Australia is proud to be the number one destination in the world for students studying overseas.

"But there is much more we can achieve together in these fields.

"I want to encourage more investment in both directions in the tourism industry.

"Australian companies are looking at increased opportunities across Indonesia.

"Indonesian companies should not misunderstand the potential in Australia for successful investments in tourism.

"I look forward to discussing this and other opportunities for us to work together while I'm in Jakarta.
