2017: The Year of Australian Lifestyle in Indonesia

31 January 2017

Indonesia is the focus of this year’s celebration of Australian lifestyle with dozens of events planned across the archipelago.

Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Paul Grigson has been joined by Australian alumni VJ Daniel Mananta to launch the #AussieBanget campaign in true Australian style – with a backyard party at the Australian Embassy.

The year of #AussieBanget kicked off in January with Festival Sinema Australia Indonesia which is being held in Jakarta, Surabaya and Makassar. There will be many great opportunities to enjoy Australia’s unique and cutting edge creative talent with exhibitions, concerts, film screenings, catwalk shows and performances to showcase the best of Australian music, fashion, design and digital art.

Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Paul Grigson said Australia is known around the world as a lifestyle superpower.

“The Australian experience is more than BBQs, beaches and kangaroos,” Ambassador Grigson said.

“Indonesians will have the chance to get a taste of Australia with a range of events and promotions showcasing all we have to offer – fantastic fresh food, our coffee culture, world class education, and fashionable, funky and tech-savvy destinations and innovations,” Ambassador Grigson said.

Indonesia Australian Business Week, which last year drew more than 360 business people to Jakarta, will again be held from 6-10 March and enable participants to negotiate partnership arrangements and find new markets for Australian and Indonesian products and services.
