As we welcome the New Year, the Australian Embassy brings you a Taste of Australia by celebrating the diversity of Australian food and culinary culture with a combination of Indonesian flavors.
Come and join Australian-Indonesian chefs, Tasia and Gracia Seger on the Australia Embassy Jakarta YouTube live and Facebook accounts at 10.30am on 19 December 2021 to check-out their take on Australian-Indonesian fusion dishes.
Tasia and Gracia Seger, winners of “My Kitchen Rules Australia 2016”, will share their passion for cooking, creating a modern Australian-Indonesian-dishes and showcasing Melbourne’s culinary culture, with an Indonesian audience.
Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Penny Williams said, “Australia takes great pride in our fresh produce. Taste of Australia is a great opportunity for us to share and enjoy this with our friends in Indonesia.”
“The Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA) brings tangible benefits to Australian and Indonesian consumers. As an example, IA-CEPA has made it easier for Indonesians to access a range of fresh produce and food products from Australia in local supermarkets,” said Ambassador Williams.
“And we are also seeing more Indonesian products in Australian supermarkets.”
Australia’s multiculturalism has influenced the variety of Australian dishes. Food is the most acceptable and easiest way to learn more about each other’s cultures and promote harmony and understanding.
Please keep an eye out for upcoming Taste of Australia events in 2022!
