The Australian Embassy Jakarta in partnership with Podomoro University, is proud to present a cooking demonstration today with Perth-based Australian Executive Chef Melissa Palinkas on how to cook sustainably.
The event, as part of our Taste of Australia series, will highlight the taste sensation of Australian produce and ingredients to culinary and hospitality students in Jakarta.
Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Penny Williams said, “Australia has an international reputation for clean and fresh pristine produce.
The Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA) has made it easier for Indonesian consumers to access a range of fresh produce and food products from Australia in local supermarkets.”
Chef Melissa runs a sustainable kitchen, making the best use of every part of the produce, reducing the carbon footprint of the kitchen by minimizing waste and plastic use. Her ‘nose to tail’ or ‘root to shoot’ approach to cooking means that nothing is wasted.
