Applications Open for G20 “Recover Together, Recover Stronger” Scholarships

Media Release

12 July 2022

Applications for Australia’s G20 “recover together, recover stronger” scholarships are now open.

During his recent visit to Indonesia, Australian Prime Minister the Hon Anthony Albanese announced a package of 10 G20 “recover together, recover stronger” scholarships for Indonesians seeking to undertake Masters or PhDs in Australia.

The scholarships will be awarded for courses in line with Indonesia’s G20 priority areas of Global Health Architecture, Sustainable Energy Transition and Digital Transformation. Applicants will be assessed on their professional qualities, academic competence and, most importantly, their potential to impact development challenges in Indonesia.

The scholarships will include an enhanced in-Australia experience that may include visits to Australian Parliament House and meetings with high-level government and industry leaders.

These G20 scholarships are prestigious international awards offered by the Australian Government to the next generation of global leaders in Indonesia. Through study and research, recipients will develop skills and knowledge to contribute significantly to Indonesia’s G20 priorities.

Senator the Hon Penny Wong, Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, said “Education is central to how Australia and Indonesia build a shared future with shared experiences.

“The G20 “recover together, recover stronger” scholarships will foster connections and friendships, and harness opportunities that benefit our people, our communities and our countries,” added Foreign Minister Wong.
