Today 116 participants from 13 Indonesian ministries and agencies completed the Inclusive and Transformative Leadership pilot training course aimed to improve managerial, socio-cultural, and technical competency in the public service.
Delivered in partnership with Australia Indonesia Partnership for Economic Development (Prospera), Indonesian government agencies and the Queensland University of Technology the training was designed to build confidence, resilience and guidance for women seeking career progression and promotions.
Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Penny Williams said, “I’m pleased that Australia and Indonesia are working together to promote and progress gender equality and social inclusion in the public service.”
“Gender diversity and social inclusion matter. Not only for the public sector to better represent the societies they serve, but also to ensure that the aspirations and experiences of diverse citizens are reflected in the decision-making process.”
Head of Prospera Public Sector, Roksana Khan said, “This pilot training is one of many ways middle managers in the Indonesian civil service can use their leadership skills to deliver diversity outcomes in policy and services delivered to citizens.”
Prospera is an Australia Indonesia Economic Development Partnership that supports the Government of Indonesia to strengthen economic governance, and promote strong, sustainable, and inclusive economic growth.
