Ten Indonesian schools joined the Australia-Indonesia BRIDGE School Partnership Program at a ceremony in Jakarta today, and will shortly be connected with partner schools in Australia.
The BRIDGE (Building Relationships through intercultural Dialogue and Growing Engagement) Program aims to build relationships between Indonesian and Australian schools and school communities, and provide access to new knowledge and skills for the participating Indonesian and Australian teachers.
BRIDGE has been running for 15 years and has so far established 210 Indonesia – Australia school partnerships.
Two selected teachers from each of the new Indonesian BRIDGE schools will have an opportunity to experience school visit and homestay with their partner teacher in Australia.
“I am confident the teachers will make the most this unique opportunity to develop their skills and exchange knowledge with their Australian counterparts through their participation in BRIDGE program,” said Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Penny Williams PSM.
Nicola Campion, Counsellor of Media, Public Diplomacy, Scholarship and Alumni from the Australian Embassy in Jakarta, who attended the event, congratulated the principals from the selected schools in being a part of the wider BRIDGE community.
