Applications are now open for Indonesian schools and madrasahs to join the Australia-Indonesia BRIDGE School Partnerships program.
This innovative program connects selected Indonesian schools and madrasahs with partner schools in Australia, providing opportunities for educators to build knowledge, capabilities, and skills while enabling students to collaborate on projects and develop lifelong friendships.
Each year, ten Australian and Indonesian schools are selected to join the BRIDGE program to establish a new partnership. The selected Indonesian educators will attend the BRIDGE Professional Learning Program, including a visit to Australia hosted by their Australian school partner.
“The Australia-Indonesia BRIDGE program is a flagship program strengthening mutual understanding and building friendship between our two countries. For 16 years, the BRIDGE program has connected school communities in Indonesia and Australia, allowing educators and students to exchange language, culture and knowledge. I encourage all interested schools to consider applying in 2024,” said the Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Penny Williams PSM.
Applications for Indonesian schools are open now until 17 March 2024. An online information session will be held on 16 February.
Since 2008, the Australia-Indonesia BRIDGE School Partnerships program has established 220 school partnerships, covering 18 provinces in Indonesia and all states and territories in Australia, and has worked with more than 840 educators.
The Australia Indonesia BRIDGE School Partnerships Program is funded by the Australian Government and implemented by the Asia Education Foundation (AEF) at the University of Melbourne.
