Australian Ambassador for Climate Change, Kristin Tilley, joined the Australian Embassy’s #AussieBanget University Roadshow on 8 May at the Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB).
The #AussieBanget University Roadshow is part of the Embassy’s continuing commitment to fostering educational and cultural exchange between Australia and Indonesia.
Ambassador Tilley and Indonesian experts from ITB, Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) and the Climateworks Centre engaged in a compelling discussion on ‘Towards Net Zero: Opportunities for Indonesia-Australia in Energy Transition’ during the event.
"Collaboration is key in our journey towards net zero. Indonesia and Australia have immense potential to work together, leveraging our respective strengths to drive sustainable energy transitions and combat climate change,” said Ambassador Kristin Tilley.
Tim Stapleton, the Australian Embassy’s Minister-Counsellor Economic, and Professor Widjaja Martokusumo, ITB's University Secretary, announced the establishment of a new #AussieBanget Corner at ITB.
"ITB stands at the forefront of science, technology, and engineering in Indonesia. It's a privilege to bring the #AussieBanget University Roadshow to such a prestigious institution,” said Minister-Counsellor Stapleton.
The Roadshow also featured sessions on studying at Australian universities, opportunities for research collaboration through Australia’s Knowledge Partnership Platform (KONEKSI), and a showcase of Australia Awards scholarships.
This is the second #AussieBanget University Roadshow hosted by the Australian Embassy to mark the 75th Anniversary of Australia-Indonesia Diplomatic Relations in 2024. The Embassy is set to host upcoming university roadshows in Yogyakarta, Central Java, and West Sumatra.
