This week, the Australian Embassy’s #AussieBanget University Roadshow joined students at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Central Java, and at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta, continuing its journey around Indonesia to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Australia - Indonesia diplomatic relations.
“We’re delighted to collaborate with UNS and UGM to co-host the #AussieBanget University Roadshow. The Roadshows are an exciting program of discussions and activities exploring modern Australia-Indonesia relations and the contributions our countries make to the region,” said Tim Stapleton, the Australian Embassy’s Minister-Counsellor Economic.
During the Roadshow’s thematic panel discussions, Ms Jennifer Parker, Expert Associate at the National Security College, Australian National University, and Adjunct Fellow at UNSW Canberra joined speakers from UNS, UGM and Universitas Indonesia to explore Australia’s and Indonesia’s collaboration to address shared maritime challenges.
A new #AussieBanget Corner was launched at UNS by Anthony Clark, Deputy Consul-General Surabaya, and Professor Irwan Trinugroho, UNS’s Vice Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs.
The #AussieBanget Corner is a permanent space for students to explore Australian books and resources, and access information on studying in Australia and Australia Awards scholarship programs.
The #AussieBanget University Roadshow also included informative sessions on studying in Australia and a showcase of Australia Awards scholarships.
