Jakarta Investment Deal Team Connecting Indonesian Projects to Australian Investment

Media Release

10 June 2024

Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Penny Williams has welcomed a new Investment Deal Team to Jakarta to facilitate Australian investment in Indonesia.

“I am pleased to welcome the Jakarta Investment Deal Team to the Australian Embassy. The Deal Team will work with Indonesian government and business counterparts to connect Indonesian projects to Australian investors, creating business opportunities for both countries,” said Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Penny Williams.

Bringing together the Australian Government’s commercial, finance, and policy capability, the Deal Team will connect Indonesian projects across a range of sectors, including infrastructure, net zero transition and agrifood, to Australian investors. The Deal Team will leverage Export Finance Australia’s activities in the region, including the A$2 billion Southeast Asia Investment Financing Facility, to support and catalyse greater private sector investment.

Based at the Australian Embassy, the Deal Team will deliver:

  • Australian missions to Indonesia to showcase opportunities and to make connections with potential partners,
  • produce a digital ‘Deal Book’ of investment-ready opportunities,
  • host market briefings and produce market guides to build awareness of market trends, policies, regulations, incentives, and opportunities.

The Deal Team was announced by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Jakarta at the launch of Invested: Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040.
