Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Penny Williams, and Dr. Laksana Tri Handoko, Chair of BRIN, jointly launched new funding for research grants in Jakarta on 21 June 2024.
Eligible Australia and Indonesian organisations are invited to submit research proposals on the theme “Indonesia’s Bioeconomy: Maximising Sustainable Marine Biodiversity Utilisation 2024”.
These research grants will be co-funded by Australia and Indonesia, and are an opportunity for organisations from both countries to collaborate on marine diversity, including as it relates to health, food and energy.
"Australia and Indonesia continue to strengthen people-to-people links and institutional partnerships for inclusive, innovative and sustainable development,” said Ambassador Williams.
“These collaborative research grants will strengthen two-way learning between both countries.”
Applications are open to a wide range of Indonesian and Australian organisations including universities, research organisations, government organisations, non-government organisations and the private sector. For more information and how to apply contact [email protected].
