Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Penny Williams PSM and Edi Prio Pambudi, Deputy VII for Coordination of International Economic Cooperation, from the Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Economy, signed a new subsidiary arrangement for the Australia Indonesia partnership for Economic Development (Prospera) today.
The new arrangement will strengthen the longstanding economic development partnership between Australia and Indonesia, with a focus on climate and energy.
“This arrangement builds on more than two decades of economic development collaboration between Indonesia and Australia and highlights the shared journey our countries will undertake through the climate and energy transition,” said Edi Prio Pambudi.
“Both Indonesia and Australia are strongly committed to implementing KINETIK (Australia-Indonesia Climate and Infrastructure Partnership), strengthening the partnership between our two countries, and attracting more private investment into renewable energy and green industry,” added Edi Prio Pambudi.
“Through Prospera, Australia and Indonesia collaborate and share knowledge on areas of importance to both countries, including clean energy, digital transformation and tax and economic policy. We look forward to continuing to strengthen this partnership through this new arrangement,” Ambassador Penny Williams said.
Prospera supports strong, sustainable, and inclusive economic growth in Indonesia, contributing to the aims of Invested: Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040.
The program collaborates with a range of Indonesian Government agencies, supporting their priorities by providing policy evidence that can promote private sector development, safeguard macroeconomic stability, and contribute to improved government performance.
