Australia Launches Five Year Development Partnership Plan with Indonesia

Media Release

8 August 2024

Today, Australia launched a new five-year Development Partnership Plan (DPP) with Indonesia.

The DPP supports Indonesia’s development agenda and continues the strong institutional and people-to-people links between Australia and Indonesia.

“Australia and Indonesia have a longstanding development partnership based on mutual respect, collaboration and trust. This new Plan aligns with the Indonesian Government’s development priorities and long-term planning, and remains flexible and responsive to emerging priorities,” said Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Penny Williams.

Over the next five years, Australia’s development partnership with Indonesia will focus on supporting equitable and sustainable economic transformation, climate resilient communities and strong institutions.

Key features of the DPP include a new Australia–Indonesia Climate and Infrastructure Partnership, which will include blended finance to increase the pipeline of climate-ready infrastructure projects.

A new, larger bilateral health program will support health security and other health priorities such as nutrition. The DPP will also continue Australia’s strong commitment to locally-led, inclusive and sustainable development.

The Government of Indonesia, civil society organisations and a range of development stakeholders were consulted in the preparation of the DPP.

The DPP is available on the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade website.
