Nine Australian fintech companies are in Jakarta this week to participate in the Australian Trade and Investment Commission’s (Austrade) Landing Pad Fintech Immersion Week and to attend the Indonesian Fintech Summit and Expo (IFSE) 2024.
The Landing Pad Fintech Immersion Week aims to engage Australian fintech companies with leading Indonesian industry players and explore partnership opportunities that support digitisation growth of financial services in Indonesia.
“Australia and Indonesia share similar experiences in adopting financial technology and it is very encouraging to see closer collaboration between our technology sectors,” said Gita Kamath, Australian Chargé d'Affaires to Indonesia. “The Landing Pad program is designed to deepen understanding and catalyse further cooperation between Indonesian and Australian companies, unlocking future opportunities.”
As part of the Australia – Southeast Asia Business Exchange (A-SEABX) program last June, Austrade signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Indonesian Fintech Association (AFTECH) to further enhance cooperation and partnership in the fintech sector.
“We are happy to have Australian fintech companies participate at this year’s Indonesia Fintech Summit and Expo 2024. Their participation has brought Australian fintech capability closer and sparked a valuable discussion on how Indonesia and Australia can complement one another in the financial technology sector,” said Aries Setiadi, Executive Director of the Indonesia Fintech Association (AFTECH).
The Landing Pad program is one of Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy initiatives, launched in March 2024. Learn how the Australian Landing Pads help export-ready Australian businesses to expand globally: https://www.austrade.gov.au/en/how-we-can-help-you/programs-and-services/landing-pads
