Australia’s flagship regional engagement activity, Indo-Pacific Endeavour (IPE), returns to Jakarta this week with the arrival of HMA Ships Adelaide and Stuart.
This visit also marks the official close of Exercise Keris Woomera, the joint exercise conducted between the Indonesian National Armed Forces and the Australian Defence Force.
“Indonesia is one of Australia’s closest partners. Following Exercise Keris Woomera, our two countries are deepening cooperation by sharing knowledge on bilateral priorities such as humanitarian assistance and disaster relief,” said Commander IPE 2024, Commodore Michael Harris OAM, RAN.
IPE 2024 will build on learnings from previous IPE visits. In addition to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, activities in Jakarta will support knowledge sharing on topics such as military medicine, and Women, Peace and Security.
IPE supports the Australian Government’s focus on deepening regional partnerships. The activity reinforces Australia’s commitment to a peaceful, stable and prosperous region.
“Australia is committed to working closely with our regional partners. IPE 2024 provides an ideal opportunity for Australia and Indonesia to learn from each other and continue to strengthen our partnership,” Commodore Harris said.
