Today, a delegation of high-level business figures will start their four-day program in Jakarta seeking to boost investment with one of Australia’s closest partners. The mission will be led by Australia’s Business Champion for Indonesia, Professor Jennifer Westacott AO, Chancellor of Western Sydney University.
The delegation comprises of 39 senior representatives from 27 of Australia’s leading investment firms and corporations as well as globally recognised asset managers, infrastructure experts and peak business groups. They represent a range of sectors including healthcare, infrastructure, logistics, energy, mining and resources.
While in Jakarta, the delegates will participate in a range of briefings with senior Indonesian Government representatives and ministries, bespoke business matching meetings and sector-themed panels. This will also include participation in the Mandiri Investment Forum’s Macro Day.
This is the largest investment mission to visit the region since the establishment of the Southeast Asia Investment Deal Teams, a recommendation of the Invested: Australia's Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040 report announced by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Jakarta in 2023.
Australia has established Investment Deal Team hubs in Jakarta, Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City, with additional representatives across ASEAN. The teams work with governments and businesses in the region to identify and facilitate outbound investment opportunities for Australian investors.
