The Prime Minister’s Special Envoy for Defence, Veterans Affairs and Northern Australia, the Hon. Luke Gosling MP, is leading Australia’s attendance at Indo Defence Expo and Forum this week.
More than 70 representatives from 26 Australian defence companies, are participating in the exhibition under the banner of Team Defence Australia.
While in Jakarta, Special Envoy Gosling met with senior Indonesian government and military officials to promote opportunities for increased defence industry cooperation between Australia and Indonesia.
Team Defence Australia lead, Brigadier John Gould, said participation at Indo Defence provides a platform for innovative Australian companies to showcase their capabilities and learn more about the opportunities available in Indonesia.
“Team Defence Australia’s strong attendance at Indo Defence – our largest ever – recognises the opportunities for collaboration arising from Indonesia’s defence modernisation and industry development,” said Brigadier John Gould.
Australia’s defence industry plays a critical role in supporting the Australian Defence Force’s contributions to regional security through the development, delivery and sustainment of essential capabilities.
Participation at Indo Defence is an opportunity to identify opportunities for export and collaboration that will deepen Australia’s security engagement with Indonesia through enhanced industry-to-industry collaboration.
