Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Rod Brazier, visited Bandung, West Java on 24 June 2025.
While in Bandung, Ambassador Brazier met with the Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan to discuss ongoing cooperation between Australia and Bandung in a variety of sectors, including education.
Together with Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) Vice Rector Andryanto Rikrik Kusmara, Ambassador Brazier also launched the #AussieBanget corner at ITB, a permanent space for students to explore Australian books and resources, and access information on studying in Australia.
“The #AussieBanget corner at ITB will provide students with access to information about the Australia-Indonesia relationship and highlight opportunities for further study, research and collaboration,” said Ambassador Brazier.
Ambassador Brazier’s visit to Bandung also provided an opportunity to meet with the Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), General Agus Subiyanto, TNI Service Chiefs and graduates of Indonesian Higher Defence College (SESKO TNI) including an Australian graduate, Australian alumni in Bandung, a tour of two EV labs at ITB undertaking research funded by the KONEKSI program, and a visit to the Deakin-Lancaster University Indonesia (DLI) campus, which will receive its first cohort of students in September 2025.
