Launch of Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Justice Phase 3

Media Release

28 July 2025

The Australian and Indonesian governments jointly launched the third phase of the Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Justice Phase 3 (AIPJ3) in Jakarta on 28 July.

AIPJ3 is a five-year program valued at up to A$63million. It aims to strengthen justice and security institutions, uphold the rule of law and promote stability and prosperity in Indonesia and in the region – which is in the shared interests of both countries.

“Australia and Indonesia are long-standing partners in the justice and security sector through decades of bilateral cooperation. We are proud of what we have achieved together through this partnership and are committed to continuing to support Indonesia’s priority reforms in this sector,” said Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Roderick Brazier.

AIPJ3 builds on the success of AIPJ2, which supported the development of 69 laws, policies, strategies and action plans, including relating to preventing sexual violence, violent extremism and corruption.  The program will continue to foster connections across governments, civil society organisations, universities and the private sector.
