Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Rod Brazier and Head of Indonesia’s National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), Nugroho Sulistyo Budi, signed a renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Enhanced Cyber Security and Critical Technology Cooperation in Jakarta on Wednesday, 20 August 2025.
Australia and Indonesia are closely cooperating on cyber to build cyber resilience and protecting against vulnerabilities that impact both countries’ national security, economic prosperity and international stability.
“In an increasingly interconnected world, cyber threats know no borders. As partners, our two countries’ ability to respond effectively depends on close cooperation, mutual trust and shared expertise,” said Ambassador Brazier. “This renewed MoU is a reflection of our longstanding partnership on cyber and critical technology issues and our shared commitment to supporting a safe, secure and prosperous region.”
“This MoU demonstrates the importance both nations place on building cyber resilience and protecting critical infrastructure,” said Ambassador Brazier.
In addition to the signing, officials convened for the Indonesia-Australia Cyber Policy Dialogue. This was an opportunity for collaborative discussion on cyber and critical technology issues, and to exchange insights and explore opportunities for joint capacity building initiatives aimed at building cyber resilience.
