A vibrant celebration of Australian alumni was held at the “Gig on the Green” festival on 27 September in Jakarta. The event brought together approximately 1,000 guests for an evening of great food, music and friendship.
Gig on the Green is the Australian Embassy’s annual mini music festival, held to welcome home recently returned Indonesian graduates from Australian education institutions, celebrate their achievements, and strengthen ties within the alumni network.
“Gig on the Green is a celebration of our wonderful Australian alumni community in Indonesia. Their deep connections with Australia underpin the partnership between our two countries,” said Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Roderick Brazier.
This year’s festival featured an exciting lineup, including Australian singer Neptune, Australian alumna Mutiara Azka, renowned Indonesian artist Kunto Aji, as well as MCs Asmi Nurais (also an Australian alumna), along with Aldi Tama.
The festival also featured a variety of Australian alumni-operated stalls such as Kopi Tuku, Mangan House Catering, Amazy, La Trobe Coffee & Brunch, Luberger, Kasuang, Gelato Milano, and Cleo Mineral Water.
Hosted by the Australian Embassy, the event was supported by Australian and Indonesian companies Qantas, RS Primaya Tangerang, Blackmores, Tugu Kunstrking Paleis, Mangan House Catering, and Ecomama Jakarta.
