Twenty-nine leading Australian agribusiness and agrifood companies are in Jakarta from 10 – 11 November to take part in the third Australia-Southeast Asia Business Exchange (A-SEABX) to Indonesia and the concurrent Infant Nutrition Council visit.
“The strength of this delegation reflects the importance of the agribusiness sector for Australia and Indonesia. This business exchange highlights Australia’s capabilities to support one of President Prabowo’s priorities and reiterates Australia's commitment as a trusted two-way trading partner," said Australia’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Roderick Brazier.
While in Indonesia, delegation members will showcase their agricultural and food industry capabilities, deepen their understanding of the growing demand and investment potential in the sector, engage with regulators, industry and private sector leaders, and explore commercial and other opportunities.
“Australia and Indonesia have strong and enduring agribusiness linkages. Enhanced partnerships between our countries will support agribusiness productivity and food security towards achieving our mutual goals of more productive, resilient and secure agribusiness supply chains,” said Professor Jennifer Westacott AC, Australia’s Business Champion for Indonesia and lead of the delegation.
"By facilitating direct connections between stakeholders and businesses, the mission aims to translate high-level commitments into tangible partnerships that benefit farmers, producers, processors, and consumers across both nations. Trade and investment diversification boosts our collective economic prosperity and means more opportunities for Australian and Indonesian businesses to grow. Australian agribusiness and agrifood companies can work in partnership with Indonesia to support these priorities," Professor Westacott added.
A-SEABX is the Australian Government’s flagship program to grow two-way trade between Australia and Southeast Asia through sectoral business missions and other initiatives.
The business exchange provides a platform to raise awareness of business and investment opportunities, engage with government and industry representatives and undertake business matching to achieve enhanced partnerships between Indonesia and Australia.
