Media Release

07 February 2026

Australia’s vibrant flavours are taking centre stage in Jakarta as the Australian Embassy in Jakarta holds the Taste of Australia program.

Callum Hann, Australian MasterChef personality, author, and entrepreneur, is in Indonesia as a Taste of Australia special guest, helping celebrate Australia’s fresh produce, vibrant food traditions, and the culinary creativity shared between our two nations.

While in Jakarta, Callum fired up the grill at the Taste of Australia BBQ and Culinary Festival, led live cooking demonstrations, visit students at SD Al Izhar, an Australia-Indonesia BRIDGE partner school, cook alongside an Australian alumni chef, and meet with Australian alumni entrepreneurs in the food and beverage sector.

Taste of Australia enables Indonesians to experience the diversity, quality, and availability of Australian fresh produce and products, while celebrating the rich food connections shared between our two countries.

“Australia and Indonesia share a deep love of food, and culinary traditions that inspire each other. Taste of Australia demonstrates that when Australian produce meets Indonesian flavours, we create something that reflects the best of both cultures,” said Australian Deputy Ambassador to Indonesia, Gita Kamath.

Taste of Australia 2026 is supported by Qantas, the official partner for this year’s program.
