The Indonesia-Australia Partnership for Infrastructure (KIAT) held a ceremony to celebrate and strengthen the advancement of women leaders in Indonesia’s infrastructure sector on 9 March in Jakarta. The event also reflected on the achievements of KIAT’s Promoting the Advancement of Women in Indonesia’s Infrastructure Sector (PAVE).
The PAVE Activity was a partnership with the Ministry of Public Works through its Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) and Srikandi Danantara in collaboration with nine infrastructure State Owned Enterprises.
“KIAT’s support reflects a fundamental priority for Australia’s international partnerships – to help shape infrastructure systems that are not only technically sound and financially sustainable, but also inclusive, fair, and future-focused,” said Australian Deputy Ambassador, Gita Kamath.
The event, which was also held in commemoration of International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026, highlighted their networks and associations through trainings, events, mentoring, and forums. KIAT is also collaborating with infrastructure entities to improve workplace policies and women’s career progression.
KIAT is a 10-year strategic initiative between the Government of Indonesia and Government of Australia focused on fostering sustainable and inclusive economic growth through improved access to infrastructure for all. Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) are core to KIAT’s work, ensuring infrastructure development benefits women, people with disability, and other marginalized communities who often face barriers to participation.
