Australian alumni gathered on 31 March for a Halal Bihalal to celebrate the close friendship between Australia and Indonesia.
The event held at the Australian Embassy in Jakarta welcomed members of Indonesia’s vibrant Australian alumni network. Vice Minister for Primary and Secondary Education,
Mr Atip Latipulhayat and senior alumni leaders representing government, business, media, the creative economy, and not-for-profit sectors joined Australian Embassy staff in an opportunity to reconnect and expand professional networks.
"The Australian alumni community in Indonesia make major contributions as leaders and innovators in their workplaces and communities," said Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Rod Brazier. "Events such as this Halal Bihalal celebrate our enduring connections and reflect the deep trust between Australia and Indonesia.”
Australia supports its alumni community in Indonesia through a range of professional development opportunities, networking activities and community events that foster ongoing collaboration and engagement.
Australia's prestigious scholarships program, the Australia Awards, is the longest running foreign scholarship program in Indonesia. Applications for Australia Awards Scholarships and Australia Awards Garuda Scholarships are open now until 30 April. Applications for LPDP-Australia Awards Scholarships are open now until 4 May.
