Indonesia and Australia today officially launched Katalis 2.0, a new program under the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership (IA-CEPA) strengthening two-way trade and investment and helping unlock the economic potential between the two countries.
Australia’s Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Hon. Matt Thistlethwaite MP, was joined by Vice Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri to launch the initiative, together with representatives from the Australian and Indonesian Governments and business leaders.
“Indonesia is one of Australia’s closest economic partners. Together, we are creating more opportunities for businesses, strengthening economic resilience, and delivering shared prosperity for both countries”, said Assistant Minister Thistlethwaite.
Katalis 2.0 is funded by the Australian Government and implemented in partnership with the Indonesian Government to support IA-CEPA’s implementation through practical collaboration between government, industry and other economic institutions.
“Indonesia is committed to expanding trade and investment opportunities that strengthen the competitiveness of our industries and create greater opportunities for Indonesian businesses in international markets. Our partnership with Australia continues to support these national priorities” said Indonesian Vice Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri.
Building on the achievements of the first phase of Katalis (2021–2025), the program will expand trade and investment opportunities, strengthen key institutions, and promote broader participation in economic growth, including for women and other under-represented groups.
“Strong international partnerships play an important role in supporting Indonesia’s long-term development agenda. Collaboration that strengthens institutions, encourages innovation and mobilises investment will contribute to more sustainable, inclusive and resilient economic growth” said Dr Eka Chandra Buana, Deputy for Macro Development Planning, Ministry of National Development Planning.
