Australia and Indonesia marked the national launch of the Australia–Indonesia Partnership for Health Transformation, known as KITA SEHAT, in Jakarta on Monday, signifying the next chapter in our health partnership that spans more than thirty years.
Deputy Minister of National Development Planning, Febrian Alphyanto Ruddyard, Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin and Australian Deputy Ambassador to Indonesia, Gita Kamath jointly launched the program. Governors and Deputy Governors from the three selected implementation provinces — Southwest Papua, West Java, and East Nusa Tenggara also attended with representations from WHO, UNICEF and UNFPA.
“KITA SEHAT reflects the strength of Australia and Indonesia’s long-standing health partnership, and our shared commitment to health for all. Australia is working together with Indonesia on stronger primary health care, improved nutrition, and more resilient health security systems,” said Deputy Ambassador Kamath.
Over eight years, KITA SEHAT will support Indonesia’s health transformation agenda by strengthening primary health care policy, governance and service delivery. It will also help strengthen health security, including through improved surveillance systems, workforce capacity and cross-sector coordination.
The national launch follows the signing of the partnership arrangement between Australia and Indonesia in August 2025, which set the foundation for this next phase of cooperation under KITA SEHAT.
