Media Release

20 August 2026

Indonesia and Australia launched KINETIK, a flagship AUD 600 million partnership to support sustainable infrastructure and climate investment across Indonesia over the next ten years. Director General of Financial Sector Stability and Development at the Ministry of Finance, Herman Saheruddin and Deputy Minister for Development Financing and Investment at the Ministry of National Development Planning, Putut Hari Satyaka, joined Australian Deputy Ambassador to Indonesia, Gita Kamath at the Ministry of Finance to officially launch the partnership.

“KINETIK demonstrates the strength of the Australia-Indonesia partnership and our shared commitment to sustainable and inclusive growth," Deputy Ambassador Kamath said. “By combining Indonesian and Australian expertise and investment, KINETIK will help attract investment for cleaner energy and sustainable infrastructure projects that support economic growth, strengthen communities, and create new opportunities in the green economy."

The partnership will support renewable energy, water and sanitation, waste management, and sustainable transport projects, while promoting digital innovation and inclusive development.

“I hope this partnership will continue to strengthen our shared efforts to advance sustainable finance policies, develop green infrastructure and expand access to financing for climate change mitigation and adaptation," Director General Herman said.

The three investments announced during the launch demonstrate how KINETIK is supporting sustainable growth:

  • USD 35 million from the KINETIK Affirma Capital Climate Transition Fund through the Private Infrastructure Development Group in Bright Nusantara Energy, which operates 30 megawatts of hydro and solar projects across West Sumatra, Gorontalo and East Lombok.
  • USD 13 million through Australian Development Investments (ADI) in Circulate Capital Asia Fund II, supporting businesses developing recycling and waste-management solutions.
  • USD 16.65 million in Australian philanthropic and public investment through ADI for the Asia Climate-Smart Landscape Fund, which finances Indonesian businesses working in sustainable agriculture, agroforestry and aquaculture.
