Indonesian climate businesses selected as KINETIK Sweef Fellows

Nine Indonesian businesses developing solutions to climate and sustainability challenges will receive coaching to attract investment after being selected as the second cohort of KINETIK Sweef Fellows, an Indonesia–Australia partnership program.

The businesses, Sirsak, Charged, Boolet, Ikanesia, Jejakin, Rekosistem, Liberty Society, Z Bio and Liquid8, are delivering practical Indonesian-led solutions in waste reduction, circular economy, sustainable agriculture, emissions measurement and cleaner transport.

“Investors need compelling evidence that a business can grow, deliver results and create lasting impact,” said Natalie Mendelsohn, Australian Embassy’s Counsellor for Infrastructure and Climate Change.

“This program will assist the Fellows build a strong case for investment and secure the capital they need to take their solutions to scale.”

The businesses are developing practical solutions across the circular economy and climate sectors. Their work includes transforming waste into valuable products, including animal feed, biofertiliser and furniture, while helping companies recycle packaging, reduce emissions, monitor environmental and reforestation projects, expand access to electric motorcycles, and give new life to plastic, cardboard and textile waste. Several are also helping to reduce waste by creating markets for excess and surplus stock.

The fellowships are part of the KINETIK Sweef Entrepreneurs Program, which is delivered by women-led impact investment fund Sweef Capital. The program is increasing gender-responsive climate startups in Indonesia through targeted support.

Each Fellow will receive business coaching and technical assistance to strengthen their operations, measure climate, gender and social impact, reach new markets and improve readiness for grants and investment.

KINETIK is a flagship AUD 600 million partnership supporting sustainable infrastructure and climate investment in Indonesia over the next decade.
