Statement on the passing of Dr Endang Rahayu

On behalf of the Australian Government I would like to offer our sincere condolences on the passing of the former Minister for Health, Dr Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih.

Our thoughts are with Dr Endang’s family at this very difficult time.

Dr Endang was an outstanding Minister, who provided distinguished leadership in a challenging portfolio.

Her work improved lives for millions of Indonesian people. The Australian Embassy was fortunate to have worked with Dr Endang and we are deeply saddened by this loss.

May she rest in peace.
